The Conundrums of Giving by Ray Gowan
This little book deals with some of the CONUNDRUMS about GIVING. What is a Conundrum? A "conundrum" is a baffling statement or question, that is not easily understood, an enigma, a riddle, something mysterious, a statement that seems contradictory or absurd, but in reality expresses a possible truth. This book explains the following Scriptures that are conundrums to many: "Give, and it shall be given unto you" Luke 6:38; "Do not gather together riches on this earth" Matt. 6:19-21; "It is more blessed to give than to receive" Acts 20:35b; and "He who has pity on the poor lends to the Lord, and He will pay back what he has given!" Prov. 19:17.

History of Martin County, Indiana by Harry Q. Holt
A reprint of the original book copyright 1966 and reprinted in 2006 by the Martin County Historical Society. The first history of the county (Volume I) was originally published in 1953, and contained primarily archival and other elusive information. Many historical facts had to be omitted from the first volume because of inadequate funds. This unpublished material has been supplemented by additional information and is in Volume II. A valuable and interesting section of this volume is the space devoted to sketches of representative citizens within and without the county. Names and dates have been interspersed with interesting facts of achievements and events. The volume contains several sketches which involve family relationships tracing back to sterling forebears who settled in the area. A Partial Autobiography of the Author is included as well with the purpose of presenting a factual and realistic picture of how some poorer people lived seventy years ago.

Final Season by Roy L. Wachter
A coach, in his final season after forty years of experience, leads his staff and a basketball team of determined young men toward their goal of winning a state championship. The tragic disease of cancer plays a major role in determining the season's outcome. The strong faith of the staff and players gives added direction to the season. Final Season is about the love between a man and a woman, the power derived from a strong faith, and the battle of one woman with cancer. But, most of all, Final Season is about basketball. Interest in the other dramas is elevated by the miraculous conclusion to the season when one young man, assisted by his teammates and coaches, steps forward to take the shot that decides the team's destiny.

Have you ever wondered what happened to Mary of Nazareth during the time surrounding the conception and birth of Jesus? What was the reaction of her family? Who knew? How did Mary's engagement occur? Was Joseph, as historians concur, an older man? Where was Mary when the angel appeared, telling her of the coming Messiah? How did she get to Elisabeth's home? Who took her? How did Joseph and Mary get to Bethlehem? After extensive research, the author has taken the freedom of conjecture to draw these events together into story form.
